4-Wheeler Winner Selected
The raffle began back in July and ended in October.
The process began by gaining approval from the State of Tennessee and submitting all necessary paperwork and requests through the Secretary of State. In March, our request went before the State General Assembly and with the support of Senator McNally, and Representatives Jim Hackworth and Les Winningham it passed without any problems.
Per the State Law, we could only sell tickets after July and could only last for 120 days. Our members worked feverously for those 3 1/2 months to sell tickets EVERYWHERE. We were at the local gas stations, football games, community events and boat docks.
We are very appreciative to all those who purchased tickets. Our winner is David Landreth, owner of Andersonville Bus Lines won the ATV and since he was a local person, an alternate was not needed. He was called the evening of the drawing, October 10, and arrived that evening to claim his ATV.

Tommy Thompson of Tommy's Motor Sports in Clinton made this event possible by providing the ATV to the AVFD at a tremendous savings so we could make the most money possible. Tommy has always been supportive of the AVFD and has done whatever possible to help. The AVFD appreciates his continued support.
The AVFD raised approximately $8000 with this fund raiser after paying costs associated with the raffle. We will use the proceeds to purchase a First Responder Vehicle to use on medical calls for assistance and Motor Vehicle Responses.
We are extremely greatful to all who purchased tickets for the ATV and all our dedicated members who took their time every weekend to sell tickets. Without them, there would not be an Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department.
The Community should know how lucky they are to be served by such loyal and dedicated people!
If you would like to join the team at the Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department, please visit our main station at 1957 Mountain Road or call us at 494-0563.
Our monthly business meeting is the first Monday of every month at 7pm at the Main Station. We appreciate all the continued support and we look forward to another progressive year in 2010!
