The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 100
block of Old Burrville Ln in the Clinton area just before 3:00pm on Monday
for a report of smoke coming from a residence.

Fire units arrived on the scene within minutes reporting light smoke from the house. Firefighters made entry into the structure to find a small fire in a back bedroom near the electrical panel.

The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the house.

Fire officials deemed the cause of the fire suspicious. There was no power to the residence and it was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The Anderson County Sheriffs Department arson unit was requested to respond to the scene for further investigation.

No body was hurt in the fire.
