UPDATED - AVFD Receives Grant for Smoke Detectors - Application now online
The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department has received a federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security to purchase, distribute and install smoke detectors within their coverage area. A PDF copy of the application can be found here. Please drop off the application AVFD station #1 or mail it to us.

The Fire Prevention and Safety Grant totals $30,0000 including a $1500 local match and will require the department to purchase smoke detectors with 10-year lithium batteries and also require that they be installed by firefighters.
Request forms for the detectors will be distributed through Andersonville Elementary School and at the fire department once the detectors have been purchased and received. For more information call 865-494-0563 or use the contact us link on the left side of the page.
